Cosmetic Surgery

Bone Regeneration

There are several treatment options available for patients who would like to improve the appearance of their smile.

  • Many “gummy smiles” can be corrected using crown lengthening or by using a laser to contour the gum tissue.
  • For patients experiencing gum recession,  soft tissue grafts and other root coverage procedures can cover the exposed tooth roots, providing an improved cosmetic appearance in addition to protection from further decay  and recession.
  • Dental implants can also enhance appearance and restore function.
  • Ridge Augmentation uses regenerative bone grafting material to rebuild bone where an extraction has left an empty area in the jaw.

LANAP®

Bone Grafting

The LANAP® procedure helps avoid the use of traditional surgery and sutures by utilizing specialized lasers and techniques to remove bacteria from periodontal pockets in the gum tissue.

This minimally invasive procedure uses laser technology to remove the diseased tissue and bacteria. The laser is also used to help seal the pocket so that new germs can not get back in. This treatment minimizes trauma to the gum tissue, providing a more comfortable procedure for the patient than traditional methods and significantly reducing healing time.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth and roots. Implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, acting as a tooth root substitute. Posts are attached to the implant allowing for dental prosthetic attachments.

Periodontal Disease

Bone Regeneration

Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Gum disease has two primary stages. If diagnosed and treated in the first stage, the condition can be reversed and tooth loss can usually be prevented. In order to prevent gum disease, practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups twice a year.

If gum disease is detected during your visit, we will instruct you on steps regarding improved home care and recommend specialized treatment options in our office to eliminate the disease.
